The Cliftonville Hotel
We booked this fairly last minute for 1 night based on the good reviews - and wish we'd booked for a longer stay. Really nicely refurbished hotel - exactly as per photos on website. Staff were all friendly and helpful. We had a comfy sea view room. Bathroom maybe a little small and only a shower so that may put some people off but that didn't bother us at all. King size bed was very comfortable. Dinner was really good quality (best meal we've had out for ages), great value and staff were very attentive. Breakfast was also fab! Communal areas (lounge & dining room) were very comfortable and great for a drink & staring out at the sea. Hotel is located slightly higher up along sea road from the town so not noisy (although we weren't there in high season). We booked directly with the hotel as theirs was the cheapest rate (very good value). Would highly recommend this hotel.

What a great, original decor hotel, bar & restaurant. Built in 1897, it retains pretty much all of its original work.Staff are great. Food is fantastic. So please we stumbled apon this place.

I cannot praise enough the staff and facility of this hotel. We recently celebrated my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary here and they could not have been more accommodating. We were given everything we needed to make the occasion special. The food was excellent and our serving staff, particularly Olga, were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. They accommodated all the dietary changes to the food etc, with no fuss or making you feel awkward.Customer service like this is sadly lacking most places today so when you are treated in this manner, it really makes a big impression.Thank you all so much. My parents had a lovely day.The room they stayed in was beautiful. Lovely and clean and had everything they needed to enjoy their special weekend. We would definitely use the Hotel again and will recommend to others.

Dropped into the restaurant for Norfolk Restaurant Week at lunchtime. Since Rosie the Lab was with us we sat in the very comfy snug" bar. For the 2-course £16 lunch menu we had mussels with chips and celeriac soup. Everything was very tasty but the mussels were pretty gritty

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at your charming hotel. The room we stayed in had a stunning beach view and a delightful atmosphere. The service we received at both the hotel and your restaurant was truly outstanding, especially when my son was feeling a bit restless. Your staff went above and beyond by providing him with Legos and other items to keep him entertained while we enjoyed our dinner. To be honest, we felt incredibly welcomed, and each member of your staff demonstrated exceptional hospitality and a genuine care for guests. We sincerely appreciate the wonderful service and thank you immensely.

Stayed here in Sept. Had a comfy room which was lovely, light, airy, large, walk in shower. Stayed here last weekend. I booked a comfy room and the room we had was so small. Classed on the website as a cosy so definitely didn't book that one. Did mention it on leaving how small the room was but didn't want to create a din. I have since emailed and have been told again that it was a comfy room. Photos on the hotel website say other. We love it there. We love everything about it apart from a small room with a shower over the bath (suffer with back/hip issues so difficult to get in and out) In future I will book via the telephone so it doesn't happen again. It will not stop us staying at the Cliftonville. The emails I have received have been very helpful and polite. We just had a large dog with us and no room to swing a cat if we had brought that too...Food and service great, location fab, so just disappointed with the room (38)

Our room was spotless. As was the rest of the hotel. We ate pizza, breakfast on two mornings, fish and chips and Sunday roast. Each dish was plentiful well presented and full of flavour.During the recent refurbishment the hotel has kept its character, is comfortable and welcoming and has good WiFi.

Had a great get together with our Girls just Wanna have Fun group with a xmas theme menu. The hotel has undergone some really complimentary renovations since I was last there. This beautiful building now feels like it’s finally going in the right direction.Big compliments to Sanchez & Paul who looked after us all with smiles and friendly professionalism and to the kitchen for some fab flavours and quality ingredients.I will sign up for my Locals Loyalty card and return again.Warm regardsKathy

It's a lovely place inside, the interior has some gorgeous period features, the room I stayed in was spotless, the decor was nice and tastefully finished. The hotel is close to the centre of Cromer with great sea views. The dining room...well...we were seated by the floor manager, then forgotten about, we waited around 45 minutes without a menu, drinks, or even being noticed, we saw other people arrive and being doted on by the same person who seated us. I eventually had to call someone over, a young lady who to be fair was very apologetic we hadn't been tended to and did step up our service. The food was very nice, we had a lovely chorizo starter, and seared lamb steaks which were cooked to perfection.Whilst we were there, the couple on the next table were given the wrong starter, also the lady opposite sent back her burger, so my view of the dining experience there was in a word chaotic.Which is a shame, as the place, with a bit more organisation and attention could be something great.

Lovely works Christmas Party in the ballroom last night. Considering the numbers catered for the meal was good, especially the dessert however, the service was somewhat lacking. Please ensure you have enough serving staff on duty when catering for these large numbers of people in future, ensuring the food is not tepid when received at the table.
