Hilltop Garden Centre
First time visiting this centre, met up with aunt and uncle from Colchester. I highly recommend the sausage rolls that we had with out teas and coffee, in the very spacious tea room.Then had a look around their gift area, my kids and grandchildren love Scandinavian gnomes, so we were spoilt for choice. Have sent photos to family, and we will be visiting again at the weekend to buy.This time I may have time to look at the plants!Highly recommend!!

We booked in for lunchtime roast. I had gammon which i thought was very tasty but those that had the turkey thought it was tasteless. One left most of it.

Hilltop Garden Centre
Went for a nice day out with my Nan but was met with rude staff in the cafe area. We showed up at 2pm after looking online that the food area closed at 3:30pm (plenty of time) only to be met with an abrupt comment that they were only serving cake and tea, even though their own website states 3:30pm for ‘lunch’. Myself and my Nan felt like we were bothering the staff causing them an inconvenience by then asking what was on offer in terms of sweet treats. Overall not a pleasant experience in the cafe but the garden centre and plants were nice.

Lovely items on sale well displayed. Good selection of plants and garden equipment. We popped into the cafe too. Okay sandwich, nice ambiance, pleasant surroundings, but tasteless coffee.

Hilltop Garden Centre
The staff were very friendly and helpful.They have a nice cafe there with indoor and outdoor seating. There are areas especially for those who have their dogs with them, indoors and outdoors, which is very thoughtful towards those who do and to those who don't. Enjoyed lunch there. Good portion sizes and the hot lunches were served hot and quickly.Sandwiches were lovely and fresh.It was such a relaxing atmosphere when we were there, so much so, that I think my elderly Dad could have happily had a nap after he had finished his lunch!Plants were well cared for and seemed a good range there.Would go again.

Was a little surprised at the Gestapo type attitude of the staff upon arrival..not the friendliest welcome I've ever had at a cafe..but if you like that sort of thing then great.The menu is pretty odd with a vegan burger but no meat ones and the prices are steep,but overall the place is ok with quite alot of seating..just dont expect a filling meal and a Sunday roast.

We visited at lunch time for lunch. It was extremely busy. You need to queue to place an order and pay up front. It was a long queue. Food served when ready.Reasonable selection on the menu good food good portions. Dogs welcome in certain areas. Large seating area in side but extremely noisy. Under cover area but more open quieter.

Booked in for a Sunday roast dinner. Nice clean, spacious and warm atmosphere. I enjoyed my gammon roast but those that had the turkey thought it was tasteless. One in our party of five left nearly all theirs.

Very clean and tidy. A nice humidity. Cafe service was quick and efficient. Coffee was beautiful, the cake I had was amazing. In this current living crisis, you need to give yourself a treat, so ignore the price. A treat is deserved at least once a month

Arrived at 2:30 on a Sunday for coffee and cake. Asked for a cold sausage roll that was in the window of the counter as with the cakes. Was told no food can be sold now. They don’t shut till 3:15.
