One of the oldest known structures in the world. Got to be seen if you’re in the area. Some of the earliest signs of human civilisation. Amazing to look at the stonework to think many thousands of years ago someone layered those stones together.

Not a lot to see but knowing the Bridgewater canal was “apparently” Englands first canal and it allowed coal to come out of the mines is awesome. Not easy to park.

Old houses (Stonehenge)

Pretty good broch - still got the double walls and interesting things inside - better than I was expecting and you can go in and explore.

Really did a lot of work to this. Stepping back thousands of years and you can feel it. Amazing wee spot. Worth a walk to see it and the views.

West Stow Anglo-Saxon Village
Our visit with the reenactment was superb. Not sure how often they have them, but their characters and knowledge were top notch. We particularly liked watching the blacksmith at work and we could try on the armour and swords for size before watching them fight!Absolutely brilliant experience.

High Pasture Cave
Skye is well known as an outdoor haven for ‘adventurers’. In particular people with a head for heights head to the many mountains and hills found around the island!! However, High Pasture Cave is great for those who want to try out some subterranean exploration.
