Hearing Aid Shop

Today was my first time using Thirsk Hearing Practice's ear wax removal service but after my excellent experience, I'll definitely be using them again. Having previously benefited from having this done free of charge during annual checkups at the Friarage Hospital, having to pay to have ear wax removed was a bit of shock. However as both the hospital and doctors appear to no longer provide this service, it is reassuring to find such a caring and professional team literally on my doorstep that can now do it for me and help me enjoy the sounds of life for many years to come.

My husband went to this shop to purchase a fully adjustable bath board. He took a drawing of the bath with full measurements. They only had one and he was told it was fully adjustable along the length of the board. However once sold it would be non returnable for health and hygiene reasons. On arriving home he discovered that the board was not fully adjustable and would therefore not fit the bath. I phoned the shop and spoke to the sales person who denied telling my husband that it was fully adjustable. My husband is a design engineer so his measurements were accurate. He also is not a liar. We could have purchased one online with a full description of adjustable, but we like to support local shops but on this occasion we were let down.

I tried to ignore my deteriorating hearing; I had always been so proud of my sharp senses. Finally my son-in-law, who has been looked after by Ian for more than 20 years, persuaded me to have a test. How I wish I had done it sooner! Ian was so understanding and explained exactly what I needed. My hearing aids are now a vital part of my life. No more teasing from the family because I have misunderstood a comment, no more failing to follow the grandchildren's parts on stage, no more missed jokes, no more subtitles! Everyone in the West Bridgford practice is so helpful and welcoming; my follow-ups have been excellent, useful and informative but also a chance to catch up on news and gossip.. Thank you Rita, Jane, Louise and Ian. I feel totally part of the Arnold Hearing family!

I met Robert when I asked for his help to try improve my mothers hearing. My mother suffers from dementia so this was not an easy task. Robert tackled this request with enthusiasm, professionalism and treated my mother with the upmost care and respect during this process. I second that Robert is interested in getting only the best outcome he can for the client. Sadly following a trial of equipment, it was decided that she would not benefit. Even so, Robert still took the time to clean, advise and improve the aid already in place. He is a real gentleman and offers true unbiased advise and a genuine no obligation opinion. I would highly recommend him.

Went to Specsavers to get new glasses and sunglasses for big holiday coming up. Was helped to choose, given all information and treated with the utmost courtesy and professionalism. I am delighted with my new glasses.

I'd been having problems with blockages in both ears, and having been in touch with my surgery numerous times, they eventually advised they were unable to help and to seek alternative treatments. Called GY Hearing Centre and they squeezed me in within 24 hours (although I think there had been a cancellation). The service was excellent, Geoff talked me through everything he was doing and made me feel very comfortable. And the cost was much lower than expected. Thanks and (probably) see you again in the future!

I've been to Scrivens over the last 2 years and been on Dreamvision, the lenses you wear overnight so you can see in the day. The staff couldnt have been any more helpful and are always very friendly.

I love this place. Everyone's so professional and so smiley and nice. Made my glasses there and going back because I know I'll get the best service and correct prescription. Amazing. Thumbs up

Overall the session went very well and was effective. I initially had a slight problem with Jittu’a accent but that disappeared after a short while. Jittu was good in explaining the results of the test and the operation of the sophisticated hearing aids. Good session and thanks.

I received professional service from the audiologist at HearAgain for the removal of wax in my ears.
