Great Club! Fantastic resources available from dive boats, air compressor, oxygen and club rooms. Brilliant instructors and the most welcoming and friendly club members.

My daughter has just completed her first lesson with Leanne of Palaemon Divers and it was an amazing experience. My daughter had never done Scuba diving before and had a one on one two hour session which took her from learning the very basics to her first scuba dive in a pool. Leanne was very attentive and engaging and took amazing care of my daughter. I can totally recommend Palaemon Divers and my daughter cannot wait to go back for her next lesson. If you ever go to Oban do not use The Puffin Dive Centre. Please do your homework and check their terms and conditions. We had a terrible customer service experience.We booked just one hour tutition. £98 for oneInstructor and one paddle board. We have wet suits gloves and footwear suitable.Unfortunately I had an emergency medical issue which was serious enough to have 48 hours in hospital and resulted in missing the lesson.We could only give 18 hours notice to the dive centre about my condition.When fit and well enough we decided to visit to see if we could get a partial refund.To our dismay we bumped into Nicola one of the owners. I’ve never been met by such aggressive body language and attitude in all my life.The conversation got so low she even questioned if I had been ill at all. So I said let’s cut to the chase will we get a refund or part refund as we didn’t use your equipment.She said Terms and conditions now get out my shop waving her hand in the air in dismal.So give this place a wide birth unless you have holiday insurance and read their terms and conditions to see how little you will get back if you cancel.If you read this Nicola maybe you need to show some sort of compassion and not be so rude and disrespectful towards your customers. If you can afford to treat customers like you do then good luck.

I completed the Open Water and Dry suit course with Palaemon Divers. Straight to the quarry on day one for my first dive - Leanne put me at ease, super professional and friendly and kept me alive :)I was encouraged to get to the pool often to overcome any fears and to practice skills which was great for confidence.Did my final open water dives with Paul who, again was great, friendly and fun - we had a play on the see-saw at the Delph!Would really recommend these guys and will be going back for more training!!

Myself and my partner completed the PADI Open Water Referral course with Gatwick Scuba on different days. We did our training with Kevin and had a fantastic time. They have a fantastic and friendly team that just want to see people enjoy diving. I will definitely be back when the time comes to take my next PADI course. I would recommend them to anyone.

I joined the club as a snorkel member. Now, due to the patience and expertise of the instructors and encouragement from the members, I am a fully qualified scuba diver. I have dived many times in the UK from the club boat. I have even dived abroad.

Done a couple of Scuba courses with Kev at Severn Tec under BSAC and Raid. Excellent instruction from him and well supported by his team who make you feel supported and safe in the water. Kev provides a range of services including instruction, servicing, air fills and equipment loans aswell as getting deals with a number of diving suppliers for any kit you might need. He also arranges regular diving trips overseas which are always fantastic and an opportunity to meet fellow divers, explore new dive sites and learn lots. Can't recommend Kev highly enough.

A very friendly and welcoming dive club, with a strong emphasis on training and frequent dive trips. RSAC dives throughout the year on its own RIB and organises many dive trips both in the UK and abroad.

I am little stunned by the other reviews posted, as this was not the experience had by our group. We have all dived Scapa several times and this was by no small measure the worst boat charter ever. Perhaps the lack on Fiona on the trips might account for Ian (skipper) being so downright rude. He spent the entire week in the wheelhouse, not even coming out to say hello or goodbye at any point. The soup served each day reminded me of dishwater I would throw away after a greasy Sunday roast. Gerry the deckhand seemed to have good diving knowledge but even with all of his efforts he could not hide the rudeness and inflexibility of the Skipper. Apparently the boat is up for sale, the best option for the Skipper I feel.
